Meet our Trainers - Anna

Qualifications & Experience

I always wanted to own a Bernese Mountain dog and was lucky enough to have Harley come into my life.  Harley and l joined the local Dog Obedience club and the rest, as they say, is history.  Harley was my ‘heart’ dog and the very reason that l became a Dog Trainer.

I completed my Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training in 2004 and have been working as an Instructor ever since.

Over the years, l have attended numerous workshops and seminars which have enhanced my experience and my passion for canine training. It has changed the way that I now train puppies and dogs of all ages. Learning has never stopped for me. I enjoy sharing positive training techniques with clients to help you get the most out of your dog.

I am currently a member of:

  • Dogs Victoria
  • Association of Professional Dog Trainers
  • Association of Pet Dog Trainers
  • Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Victoria

Why I'm a Dog Trainer

Really easy for me  to answer - I love dogs and am passionate about teaching people how to enjoy a stress free life with their dogs.

Training your puppy/dog will assist in building a wonderful relationship and enhance your life together.

My Breed of Choice

My current breed of choice is Bernese Mountain dog. Bentley is my third Bernese and having previous owned Bella and Harley, I can honestly say that I am well and truly addicted to this wonderful breed.

Dogs in my life

I have always had dogs in my life and various breeds including Chihuahuas to Labradors to Bernese Mountain Dogs.

Qualifications & Experience

If you count our family dog we got when I was three, I have in excess of 50 years experience with dogs! I got my own dog about 20 years ago - the irrepressible Chalon - my 'heart' dog. It is he who is responsible for me getting involved in the dog world.

I gained my Certificate III in Dog Training & Behaviour, and have experience in training dogs to an advanced level of obedience, in conformation showing and in breeding.

I am a member of:

  • Victorian Canine Association - member and registerd Breeder
  • Labrador Retriever Club of Victoria

Why I'm a Dog Trainer

For me, it's all about the dogs! I am a dog trainer because I firmly believe that trained dogs are more well mannered and better suited to life with people. They are more likely to be loved and cherished and the likelihood of them being surrendered or dumped is reduced.

Training leads to better dog/human relationships, which benefits everyone - people and canines alike.

My Breed of Choice

Labradors and...well...Labradors! There are lots of breeds I like, but Labradors have my heart! If I had to have a smaller breed, it would be a Scottish Terrier.

Dogs in my life

As mentioned, we got our family dog when I was about 3 - a fox-red Labrador, named Cindy. Before that, there was my Grandmother's gold Cocker Spaniel - Goldie. The first dog I owned myself was a black male Lab - Chalon. I got Vixen, a yellow Lab to be mother to Chalon's babies, but nature had other plans and this was not to be.

I currently have 3 Labradors - two yellow girls, Liska and daughter Revontulet (Revvi to her friends) and a black boy - Tanker, Liska and Chalon's son.
